James Woledge
James is registered with the General Osteopathic Council and member of the British Osteopathic Association. Having qualified with First Class Honours from the British School of Osteopathy in 2003.
He has enjoyed periods of undergraduate and postgraduate lecturing, particularly in areas of sports medicine, tendon related disorders and shockwave therapy. He also enjoys hosting the Shockwave Therapy Podcast and collaborating with other health professionals for Abbeyfields’ new service for treating Men’s Health conditions such as ED (Erectile Dysfunction).
His interests include complex pain syndromes, sports injuries and biomechanics, headaches/pain, foot problems, and plantar fasciitis
He is also keen to emphasise the traditional mixed approach he uses in combination with evidence based practice gleaned from his 16 years in a GP practice and numerous postgraduate courses. He is also a qualified medical acupuncturist and member of the British Medical Acupuncture Association.
The focus of his day to day practice is making sure his patients leave having; a clear understanding of their problem, knowing how best to care for themselves, and realistic expectations of treatment effectiveness and recovery times. He is passionate about working as a team with likeminded specialists to offer best evidence solutions and not over treating patients when they could be better served by referring on.
