This is a two hour online introductory course on caring for the professional voice is suitable for manual therapists.
The voice professional, whether a singer, speaker, actor, or even simply a teacher, is often subject to intense use of the vocal apparatus. Vocal fatigue can sometimes turn into a pathological issue, and it is important to prevent this possibility. Osteopathy and manual therapy can be very useful in this condition. The performer can benefit from osteopathic treatment to improve their performance or to endure intense work and frequent performances that cannot be postponed. Osteopathy can be beneficial not only in pathological cases but also in vocal and acting techniques, offering the actor-singer greater opportunities in their research and expression.
An osteopath or manual therapist specializing in voice must understand the specific needs of the performer, both in healthy conditions and during intense work, as well as in the presence of any pathology. In such cases, manual therapy can complement needed speech therapy or pharmacological treatments.
In this preliminary course, we will explore the main needs of the vocal performer, both with and without the presence of pathologies, in order to better manage the osteopathic manual approach.
